Marije Oude Hengel

Project Manager - Business Unit Middle East & North Africa

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Assistant at the European Endowment for Democracy in Brussels. Master's degree in International Relations, specialisation in Conflict, Power and Politics from the Radboud University. During my studies I studied for 6 months at the American University in Cairo (AUC) in Egypt and I did an internship at the Dutch Embassy in Rabat, Morocco.
Currently involved at VNG International with projects in Tunisia, Algeria, Palestina and Morocco and I work on themes linked to MEL, quality assessment and gender.

VNG International contributes to connecting the dots between the local, national, regional and international level. What attracted me the most at VNG International is that knowledge on local governance - founded in the dutch expeirence - is shared, adapted to the needs of the local context and applied with a careful attention to sustainability.
