The last two weeks were about making virtue of necessity. The outbreak and aftermath of COVID19 forced the IDEAL team (and other colleagues) to mainly work online. This raised many questions. How to do this? What options are available? What to take into account? And above all: how do you keep online meetings interesting and interactive? This is why several members of the IDEAL team took part in consecutive trainings to improve their online facilitation skills.

The training covered a lot of topics such as the inclusion of participants, making content visual, stimulating online collaboration, working with bigger and international groups and facilitating hybrid sessions. During the second training each participant had to facilitate his or her own designed training using different tools such as Menti, Canva or Miro. Trainers from the Facilitation Academy provided the facilitators with feedback on the spot. Now it’s up to the team to put everything in practice!
