  • Consultancy Services supporting Local Self-Government Units strengthening local disaster risk management and planning in Serbia

    Field of expertise: Developing Sustainable and Resilient Cities and Communities
    Duration: Start July 1, 2021 till July 15, 2022
    This project supported local governments to assess disaster risks, strengthen planning and improve flood resilience through capacity building and practical guidance based on international best practice.

  • Countering Discrimination and Protecting LGBTI Rights

    Improves how national and local authorities prevent discrimination and protect LGBTI rights. By strengthening cooperation, policy and policing, it supports safer, more inclusive communities where local institutions can respond effectively.

  • DANWADAAG: Improving the social contract through inclusive and transparent Disaster Risk Management

    Country: Somalia

    Duration: Start January 1, 2021 till March 31, 2025
    Danwadaag improves disaster risk management in Somalia and Somaliland by building trust, cooperation and inclusive decision-making between communities and authorities.

  • DEALS, Governance of Inclusive Green Growth in Cities

  • Decentralisation of Property Tax (I)

    Field of expertise: Building More Effective Public Administration
    Duration: Start August 1, 2018 till December 31, 2022
    The overall objective was to investigate how decentralisation of property tax can contribute to enhance (property) tax revenues to enable municipalities in Palestine to deliver improved basic services to citizens.

    Duration: Start September 1, 2018 till March 31, 2023
    This project enhanced municipal finances and service delivery by enabling decentralised property tax collection through improved legal frameworks, IT systems, data management and local capacity building.

  • Democratic Governance East Activity

    Duration: Start February 28, 2019 till September 30, 2023
    By promoting inclusive governance, gender equality and civic participation in eastern Ukraine, the project strengthens local institutions and helps communities stay resilient in times of crisis.

  • DURAGIRE Integrated Water Management Programme for the Ouémé Delta

    Country: Benin

    Duration: Start January 1, 2024 till December 31, 2026
    The DURAGIRE programme builds on earlier integrated water resources management efforts to reduce water-related risks for communities. It strengthens local governance, sustainable water investments and flood early warning systems.

  • Dutch Societal Innovation Hub

    Country: Netherlands

    Duration: Start December 6, 2022 till September 30, 2025
    This project accelerated digital and green transformation in the public sector by connecting ecosystems and public authorities to develop, test and scale mission‑driven innovations for public services.

  • East Africa, We Are Able!

    Country: World
    Field of expertise: Improving Access to Basic Services
    Duration: Start January 1, 2021 till December 31, 2024
    The programme promoted inclusive and resilient local governance by enabling people with disabilities and other excluded groups to influence policies, practices and norms for improved food security through empowered civil society and engagement with public authorities.

  • ESPAD Peace and Security Program in Djugu

    Country: Democratic Republic of the Congo
    Field of expertise: Dealing with Conflict, Fragility and Migration
    Duration: Start October 1, 2020 till September 30, 2022
    The programme improved access to justice, security services and local governance with a strong focus on transparency, accountability and inclusion. It also promoted women’s meaningful participation in stabilisation and peacebuilding processes, supporting peace and long-term stability.

  • ESPASK Peace and Security program in South Kivu

    Country: Democratic Republic of the Congo
    Field of expertise: Dealing with Conflict, Fragility and Migration
    Duration: Start October 1, 2020 till March 31, 2023
    The programme aimed to realize the following long-term change: inclusive and participatory local governance contributed to reducing the extent and incidence of customary power conflicts.

  • ESPER 2 Peace and Security program in East DRC

    Country: Democratic Republic of the Congo
    Field of expertise: Dealing with Conflict, Fragility and Migration
    Duration: Start January 1, 2025 till June 30, 2026
    ESPER 2 works to improve living conditions and security in eastern DRC, supporting authorities and communities to benefit over 2.5 million people.

  • ESPER Peace and Security program in East DRC

    Country: Democratic Republic of the Congo
    Field of expertise: Dealing with Conflict, Fragility and Migration
    Duration: Start September 1, 2020 till December 31, 2024
    The programme strengthened security and justice governance, improved accountability of public institutions and promoted social cohesion through participatory, inclusive and gender-responsive approaches to support peace and stability.

  • Ethiopia, Sustainable Development through Improved Local Governance

    Country: Ethiopia
    Field of expertise: Building More Effective Public Administration
    Duration: Start January 1, 2024 till December 31, 2026
    This programme supports the Ministry of Finance in implementing a new property tax system. By bringing together stakeholders from national, regional and local levels, the programme develops regulations, tools and shared approaches.

  • EU Facility Supporting Policy Dialogue and Technical Assistance in Iraq

    Country: Iraq

    Duration: Start April 11, 2024 till July 14, 2025
    The objective of this project was to strengthen public institutions so they could make better policies, plan and act more effectively, work with non‑state actors and respond to citizens’ needs in support of socio‑economic development.

  • Field Level Leadership Program for Beira

    Country: Mozambique
    Field of expertise: Building More Effective Public Administration
    Duration: Start July 1, 2021 till May 31, 2023
    This project strengthened Beira’s sanitation service by building motivated leadership, improving work culture and performance, and increasing access to safe sanitation and citizen satisfaction.

  • Financing Mechanism for Local Infrastructure Projects

    Country: Uganda
    Field of expertise: Developing Sustainable and Resilient Cities and Communities
    Duration: Start September 20, 2022 till April 30, 2023
    This project helps local governments in Uganda join forces to finance infrastructure. By creating a shared funding mechanism and building practical capacity, it enables more efficient, scalable investment in local and regional priorities.

  • Fostering Resilient Crisis Management

    Country: Sint Maarten
    Field of expertise: Developing Sustainable and Resilient Cities and Communities
    Duration: Start March 1, 2022 till March 1, 2024
    This project helped St Maarten improve crisis management capacities and build long-term resilience through training, coordination and a local knowledge centre.

  • Ghana, DEALS, Governance of Inclusive Green Growth in Cities

    Country: Ghana
    Field of expertise: Developing Sustainable and Resilient Cities and Communities
    Duration: Start September 1, 2017 till August 31, 2022
    In Ghana, Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), the programme worked towards multi-stakeholder cooperations for the realisation of slum development, decongestion and circular economy.
