    ADIL drives Algeria’s decentralization reforms by strengthening local governance and unlocking territorial potential.
  • Amahoro@Scale – An integrated approach towards improved tenure security and land governance

    Country: Burundi
    Field of expertise: Dealing with Conflict, Fragility and Migration
    Duration: Start December 1, 2021 till June 30, 2026
    Improves land governance and tenure security through better registration and local services. By promoting inclusion, conflict resolution and women’s land rights, it supports more stable communities.
  • Analysing and Improving Land Rights Frameworks

    Country: South Sudan
    Field of expertise: Building More Effective Public Administration
    Duration: Start December 8, 2023 till December 7, 2024
    Strengthens understanding of land rights systems in fragile contexts. By applying inclusive, conflict- and gender-sensitive approaches, it helps reduce tensions and supports fair land governance, contributing to more stable communities.
  • Appui à la Valorisation Economique et à la Reconstruction Durable des communes sinistrées dans le Haut Atlas (AVERDHA)

    Supports earthquake-affected municipalities in the High Atlas to rebuild services and communities. By combining recovery with long-term resilience and local participation, it strengthens municipalities to respond to real needs on the ground.

    Duration: Start February 1, 2018 till February 1, 2021
    Strengthens Palestinian local governments to deliver services and support local development. By building institutional capacity, supporting advocacy and improving planning, the project helps communities in Area C become more resilient and better governed.
  • Beira Land Administration Systems Project (Phase II)

    Supports Beira to improve land administration, urban planning and climate resilience. By strengthening local systems and leadership, it helps the city manage growth and deliver better services for its population.
  • Beira Land Administrations Systems Project

    Country: Mozambique

    Strengthens land administration and urban planning in Beira. Through digitisation, improved processes and staff training, the project enhances municipal performance, increases property tax revenues and supports resilient city development.

  • Building Climate-resilient Infrastructure and Capacity

    Country: Dominican Republic

    Duration: Start November 21, 2019 till January 8, 2025
    The project supported post‑disaster recovery by improving climate‑resilient infrastructure, restoring livelihoods and building institutional capacity for risk‑aware spatial planning and infrastructure investment.

    By enhancing citizens’ voices in local governance, IDEAL Burundi aspires to improve human security in 8 local governments, in particular for vulnerable groups such as women and youth.

    The SDLG programme in Burundi enhances the legal and financial position of local governments and promotes more transparent leadership. It also helps municipalities generate revenue to finance development plans and basic services.

    Provides a platform for local governments and associations to exchange knowledge on capacity development. It supports stronger institutions through collaboration and shared learning worldwide.
  • Caribbean Exchange Network (Caribische Uitwisselingsfaciliteit/netwerk)

    Offers tailored support and knowledge exchange to strengthen governance across Caribbean islands of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It helps build local capacity and improve cooperation between governments.
  • China knowledge network local governments

    Country: Netherlands
    Field of expertise: Building More Effective Public Administration
    Duration: Start February 1, 2020 till June 30, 2021
    The wider objective of the project is to assist the national government of the Netherlands in better facilitating information exchange and streamline intermunicipal coordination and cooperation amongst Dutch local governments in their paradiplomatic relations with China.
  • Cities Implementing Transparent Innovative and Effective Solutions (CITIES)

    Duration: Start September 25, 2016 till September 24, 2021
    Improves municipal governance in Jordan by advancing service delivery and decentralisation. Through technical support and training, the project enables municipalities to plan better, engage citizens and deliver more responsive and efficient services.

    This project supports civil society and civic partnerships in Ethiopia to advance inclusive dialogue and human rights. It helps citizens and local actors engage constructively with government and public decision-making.
  • Civil Society Partnership Facility for Resilience (CSPFRP)

    Country: Sint Maarten
    Field of expertise: Developing Sustainable and Resilient Cities and Communities
    Duration: Start July 10, 2020 till March 31, 2025
    Supports civil society organisations to strengthen community resilience and contribute to reconstruction. Through grants, training and support, it helps communities recover and prepare for the future.
  • Colombia, DEALS, Governance of Inclusive Green Growth in Cities

    The programme contributed to the formalisation process of informal solid waste pickers, recycling and multi-stakeholder cooperation on circular economy and waste management.
