VNG International has operated in Kenya since 2006 and established an office in 2024. We are currently implementing two projects: Sustainable Development Through Improved Local Governance (SGLD) and Think and Do Tank. We work with two county governments to improve migration management and service delivery for displaced and host communities, and with eight counties to promote social accountability, driving investments in agrifood, water, and energy sectors. We also collaborate with development partners, Civil Society Organizations, Refugee Led Organizations, the Council of Governors (for migration advocacy), and the Kenya School of Government (to train public staff on migration management). Our projects are funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kenya.
