Guled Ahmed Yusuf – Country Director Puntland State, Somalia
Guled Ahmed Yusuf is a versatile professional with 25 years of experience in planning, specializing in technical structure design, master planning, and security analysis, particularly for local governments and SMEs in Dutch cities. Certified as an urban planner and environmental engineer in the Netherlands, he has contributed to major international organizations, including UNHCR, the World Bank, and various EU and UK projects. As Country Director at VNG International in Somalia, he leverages his expertise to enhance local government capacities across Somalia, Somaliland, and Puntland, known for his skill in simplifying complex issues and leading multi-disciplinary teams toward optimal results.

Mohamed Abdulkadir Kaarshe – Resident Programme Manager DANWADAAG
Mohamed Abdulkadir Kaarshe is a Programme Management Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in inclusive governance and resilience, primarily in Somalia. Since joining VNG International in May 2022, Mohamed has led impactful projects in inclusive disaster risk management, collaborating with organisations such as UNCDF, JPLG, PDRC, and Diakonia Sweden. He holds an MSc in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a BA in Public Administration and Management, providing a strong foundation for his work in governance and resilience.

Abdrisak Mohamed Mohamud – Resident Programme Manager SDLG
Abdrisak Mohamed Mohamud SDLG Resident Programme Manager Somalia has over 20 years of experience as a lecturer in the UK and has collaborated extensively with UN agencies and the World Bank. With an MSc in Development Studies, he brings a wealth of expertise in development work, particularly in local governance and economic development initiatives, combining academic insight with practical field experience.

Paul Mbaziira – Finance Manager SSFIII Consortium Paul is a finance management expert with over 15 years of experience in financial management, auditing, and financial policy development. He holds an ACCA (UK), an MBA in Accounting from Lovely Professional University in India, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Makerere University in Uganda. Paul joined VNG International in July 2024 as a finance expert for the SSF III Consortium in Somalia, following roles with various multi-donor funded organisations, including ACROSS/Yei TTC (South Sudan) and KAALO (Somalia), supported by USAID, Diakonia, Tear Fund, UKAID, DF, UNICEF, EU, FCDO, and UNDP.

Mohamed Abdullahi – MEAL expert and Programs Consultant
Mohamed is a highly experienced Program Management Specialist. He brings over 15 years of expertise across the humanitarian, public, and development sectors. Mohamed has been instrumental in the design, management, and evaluation of programs that drive sustainable development,  advance blue economy initiatives, foster fisheries development, enhance local governance and public finance, stimulate local economic growth, and address migration challenges. He has collaborated extensively with the United Nations, international NGOs, and government institutions. Mohamed holds a master’s degree in Economic Planning and an Executive Master’s in Development Policies and Practices from the Geneva Graduate Institute, equipping him with a robust foundation to support impactful programmatic interventions globally.

Yussuf Hussein VNG -Led Dawlad Wanaag Consortium Coordinator
Yusuf Hussein Ibrahim is an expert in managing consortium programs and organizational initiatives, focusing on economic development, peacebuilding, good governance, democratization, and climate change adaptation. With over 18 years of experience, he is dedicated to driving sustainable impact through strategic planning, capacity building, and collaboration with international donors and partners.

Ifrah Said Abdi, VNG International Resident Finance Manager in Puntland Somalia
Ifrah has bachelor degree of business management and master degree of marketing. has more than 5years experience in financial management, budget monitoring, procedures, audit and overall marketing research. Has joined VNG Internation June-2023.Ifrah has worked closely with the United Nations Children’s Funds, Norwegian Refugee Council, Save the Children international, United Nations Development project/subproject stakeholders to ensure that financial reporting for purposes of performance audit is credible and accountability.
