To mark World Water Day 2024, VNG International Benin joined national efforts to raise awareness about the importance of preserving water resources for future generations. On March 22, 2024, at the Congress Palace in Cotonou, our team hosted a stand at the event, to present its actions in the water sector and inform visitors about water-related issues around the world and in Benin in particular. A wide range of topics were covered to encourage everyone to take responsible action on a daily basis, ranging from sustainable water management to the Community Early Warning System to floods.
We would like to thank all the visitors who took the time to learn more about these crucial issues for the future of our planet. Together, we can work to preserve water, a resource essential to life.
VNG International is currently implementing two Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) projects in Benin, funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the period 2024–2026:
These projects aim to to consolidate the operationalization and sustainability of local IWRM in Benin, by strengthening the institutional fabric of IWRM, the economic valuation of water resources, the Flood Early Warning System and the prefiguration structures for Local Water Committees.
