In his opening words director Pieter Jeroense reflects on the moving year that was 2022.  The war in Europe is of great concern to us and the shrinking space for democracy only underscores the relevance of our work. We stand tall for our mission ‘Building Better Futures, by strengthening democratic local government worldwide’ and we are happy to do so with many partners all over the world.

Our report is for the first time structured around a selected number of corporate indicators that capture our work and aggregate achievements from all our ongoing projects. We are enthusiastic about this innovation.
