LOCALLY GENERATED EMMEN

Generating your own energy together with fellow villagers and neighbours. In Emmen we think it is important that residents can benefit from locally generated energy. The developers of solar fields or solar parks therefore make 20% of their solar parks available to residents. Residents can also start an initiative themselves. In order to make use of the locally generated energy, residents organise themselves in a cooperative. The service point Locally Generated Emmen helps start-up and budding energy cooperatives get started.

"The solar park is an opportunity for the villages, which we must seize with both hands! An energy cooperative has been established for our part of the park. Households from Oranjedorp and Nieuw-Dordrecht can become members and therefore purchase electricity more cheaply."
