General and specific objectives:

Increase the level of social and territorial cohesion in Uruguay: improve the levels of local sustainable, economic and social development, at a local and regional level, and strengthen the competitiveness of the territories, by guiding joined actions of local governmental departments (Intendencias) and the local stakeholders, within the framework of development, social and economic politics, and the decentralization strategy as determined by the national government.

Result 1: economic and social sustainable development

Strengthen the attractiveness of the territories and generation of sustainable productive employment, especially in the interior departments of the country and the periphery of Montevideo.

Result 2: approaching citizens

Develop and strengthen institutional capacities of local and departmental government institutes to formulate, implement and manage communication with citizens in aim of improving the social and territorial cohesion.

Result 3: decentralisation and public politics

Support to the formulation of the decentralisation, local development and citizen participation strategy, as well as to the instruments of the implementation of that strategy, which includes the definition of the competences of local and central government institutes and the politics related to local development (deconcentration and/or decentralisation)
