  • Summary

    The overall objective of this project is to increase the level of accountability and transparency within the local public administration in Montenegro by contributing to the implementation of the 'Action Plan for the implementation of program for combating corruption at the local level (2008-2011)'.

     

    The project goal is to improve the performance, accountability and transparency of local public service delivery within the participating Montenegrin municipalities.

     

    The expected results of the project are:

    (i) Awareness for the need to increase transparency and accountability at the municipal level among elected representatives, municipal staff and civil society within the participating Montenegrin municipalities has been raised.

    (ii) Best Practices on increased transparency and accountability within municipal service delivery with the application of participatory mechanisms have been developed within the 5 pilot municipalities.

    (iii) The capacity of the Union of Municipalities has grown to provide support to Montenegrin municipalities in increasing the level of transparency and accountability in their municipalities.
