VNG International contributes to yearbook of the Observatory for Decentralised Cooperation between the EU and Latin America - 24-08-10

The Observatory for Decentralised Cooperation between the European Union and Latin America will soon publish its EU-LA Decentralised Cooperation Yearbook 2008. The Observatory is a tool for solidarity between cities, regions and other stakeholders. It contributes to increased quantity and most of all quality of decentralised cooperation in order to amplify its effects, both fighting against poverty, facilitating regional integration and strenghtening local capacities.

The Observatory has invited VNG International's director, Mr. Peter Knip, to contribute to this yearbook by writing one of its chapters. This chapter, named "The search for synergy. The role of national local government associations in municipal international policy: trends in Europe and the description of a case", reflects on municipal international cooperation, VNG International's Logo South programme and the practice of capacity building of associations of local governments.
