Knowledge exchange in waste management (municipality of Lezha, Albania) - 20-10-11

Commissioned by the municipality of Lezha (Albania), VNG International organizes a study visit to the Netherlands with respect to waste management systems and sustainable development.

Since Lezha is located within the most popular touristic region in Albania, there is a high demand for environmental protection and sustainable development practices in the area of waste management. At its own request, Lezha would like to get acquainted with European best practices in this field.

The study visit takes place from 25 until 27 October and will consist of a delegation of six persons. The programme includes, amongst others, a workshop on “Integrated Sustainable Waste Management” and “Citizen Involvement & Education Campaigns” (organized in cooperation with the organization Waste), a visit to the municipality of Leiden and an excursion to the Veluwse Puin Recycling.
