Cooperation with South African Local Government Association renewed - 05-09-11

In a video message VNG chair Annemarie Jorritsma thanked the old board of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) for the good cooperation with VNG and she wished the new leadership wisdom and success to lead SALGA in the coming period of the New Growth Path 2011-2016. 

In the same video Ralph Pans, director of VNG and Peter Knip, director of VNG International, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for concrete cooperation with SALGA in the coming years.

The message was viewed by the 2200 participants assembled in SALGA’s annual congress in Durban on August 30 - September 1.

SALGA has been a partner in the LOGO South programme since 2007 to enhance its role in representing local government in South Africa on the national level. Other areas of cooperation include improved service provisioning to its members and enhancement of its network function.
