VNG International’s work in the area of democratisation and governance is guided by a local governance approach: improving relations between local authorities, civil society organisations and the public. We help to raise citizens confidence in local authorities and to facilitate their participation in the decision-making process. Addressing ethics and integrity is an important aspect of this. We strengthen organizations, help with needs assessments and provide technical assistance for setting up information and resource centres and manage funding programmes for local authorities.
