  • Summary

    The wider objective of the project is that the conditions for private-sector growth and employment have improved (particularly in the northern region of Namibia). Component 2 plans of the Partnership for Economic Growth plans to collect and publish best practice approached to Local Economic Development in Namibia.

     

    Through this project, approaches and achievements of Local Economic Development amongst 13 Namibian local authorities will be compared using the benchmarking method, in order to identify and implement ways of strengthening their performance.

     

    The purpose of the project is divided into the following sub-project purposes:

    a) To identify and share which practices are best and areas for improvement in Local Economic Development performance in Small & Medium Enterprises parks, Open Markets, Local Economic Development Strategy Development and Public Private Partnerships in a number of local authorities per category.

    b) To provide local authorities with insight in and knowledge on the concept of benchmarking and Local Economic Development through training and dissemination of best practices.
