Ever since it was established, almost 100 years ago,  VNG has been at the heart of decentralisation in the Netherlands. The advice and support VNG International gives is based on the wealth of experience that we have amassed on intergovernmental interfaces, intergovernmental financial relations, local government legislation and regulations, capacity-building of local government staff, councillor training, and the many factors that contribute to a smooth implementation of decentralisation processes.
